With organ donations in South Africa dipping as low as two per million people many don't live long enough to find a suitable match, writes Faranaaz Parker.


This article outlines what may be some of the factors contributing to the current low organ donor rate within South Africa, including culture and beliefs in some sectors of society. Also some of the current initiatives that have been implemented in other countries to increase rates of organ donation are also outlined.
