Reported online via the Stanford Medical Center Report the news that
a blood test can identify heart-transplant rejection at an earlier stage than a conventional biopsy (as pictured).

The test detects of circulating donor DNA in the blood of heart transplant recipients. As this is a preliminary report more experience needs to be gained with this test prior to it becoming a possible addition to the current laboratory testing that is used to help monitor transplant recipients.
