TPACK es el acrónimo de la expresión “Technological PedAgogical Content Knowledge” (Conocimiento Técnico Pedagógico del Contenido). Es un modelo que identifica los tipos de conocimiento que un docente necesita dominar para integrar las TIC de una forma eficaz en la enseñanza que imparte. Ha sido desarrollado entre el 2006 y 2009 por los profesores Punya Mishra y Mattew J. Koehler , de la Universidad Estatal de Michigan. En España es un modelo que desde Fundación Telefónica se ha divulgado en jornadas y espacios de debate para la formación del profesorado de la mano de Judi Harris y Narcís Vives.

Currently our EU-funded Learning Layers (LL) project is preparing itself for the Design Conference of the Year 2, which will take place in March in Espoo (next to Helsinki) in Finland. We will be discussing issues of Co-Design, Evaluation and Exploitation. Surely, our work with the Learning Toolbox will be high on the agenda. But, as the name of the event says, we should consider, what is important regarding design, transfer of innovations and scaling up of innovations.

I recently got an iPad Air, which I absolutely love! It’s great for surfing the net, posting on social media and answering emails. First thing in the morning will find me snuggled on my sofa with a cup of tea, iPad Air in hand. Tables and smart phones mean that mobile learning anywhere, anytime is now a reality. I was very dubious about the first generation of mobile devices and sceptical of those who raved about their potential for learning. Remember palm tablets? Nasty gritty small screen and not a very intuitive interface.

In my framework of Modern Workplace Learning (see diagram on right)  I use the term social collaboration to label an important new element of work of the modern-day L&D department. I deliberately chose not to label it social learning. So what is the difference – or rather connection – between these two terms?

I attended the kick off meeting of an Eramus+ project, LoCoMotion in Delft on Monday. The project is creating a MOOC on designing MOOCs. The project is lead by Brian Mulligan from Sligo Institute of Technology. The other partners are from the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. We had a wide ranging discussion around the vision of the project and the associated practicalities. One of the first things we need to decide is what platform to use. We are looking at a number but CANVAS.net looks like the front-runner at the moment.
