Innovation and Personality Types

Kickstarter Pulls Plug on the Rock Smartwatch After Backer Concerns

Kickstarter Pulls Plug on the Rock Smartwatch After Backer Concerns | Open Innovation | Scoop.it
The Pebble smartwach is still Kickstarter's most successful project, having raised over $10 million. An ambitious campaign on the platform for a similar product was suspended by Kickstarter over the weekend.
Maxine Horn's insight:

Creative Barcode has raised such issues several times both from the perspective of those running Crowd Funding portals (refer to Kickstarter dragged into 3D Printer patent dispute) and those placing concepts.

Unless Intellectual Property issues and Trust issues are addressed (in simple terms) then a handful of bad apples will damage crowd funding.

Creative Barcode Trust Charter terms of agreement and digital IP badges/ barcodes provide a safety net for both sides - without requiring in-depth legal contracts and fees.

In early 2014 we are taking this further forward with the introduction of IP badges incorporating markers-marks, time-stamps and Meta Data.

The Collaborative Economy: 2014 Hot Topic And Trend - MediaPost Communications

The Collaborative Economy: 2014 Hot Topic And Trend - MediaPost Communications | Open Innovation | Scoop.it
The Collaborative Economy: 2014 Hot Topic And Trend MediaPost Communications Here are some trends that will arise from the adoption of the collaborative model: Durability Over Design – Products that are shared need to be designed to withstand wear...
Maxine Horn's insight:

The collaborative economy has been in the wings, gaining momentum for some time - and some would say just a modern day twist on bartering and communal activities.

It's always been in the commercial wings as well but has struggled to emerge all the time the largest player at the table keeps tight fisted control over everyone else and takes the largest slice of the pie often leaving some contributors with nothing

So I like this statement in the writers top 5

Credit to Cogs – Products that are collaboratively manufactured beg questions about trust, quality and accountability. In response, new businesses will emerge that will police the cogs in the wheel and enable team players to get due credit (and payment) for their contributions.

And that's again a scenario where Creative Barcode has an active role to play - its system barcodes each party's contributions and therefore time and absent mindedness do not over-ride original source and thereby credit, cogs and remuneration.
