In this project, I converted an image of a hot air balloon into a dowel rod sculpture. The final structure is a transformation of digital information stored in a photo into a physical 3D object. I constructed the sculpture to help visualize how images are stored on computers, as well as demonstrate the enormous scale of information in just a single picture that you see on a computer. It looks cool too! This instructable will go through how to construct an image based dowel rod sculpture of your own.Here’s the basic idea. Every digital image is made up of many tiny squares (pixels) with each square assigned some intensity value. Very dark regions in the photo have pixels with low intensity values, while regions that are bright (e.g. the balloon) have high intensity values. I saw one of these mirrors online and instantly set out to make one in the cheapest, thriftiest and easiest way I could find and now you can too! This mirror is my second iteration, I used a Laptop first to write the code and eased my way into using the Raspberry Pi, The total cost of the build was $146 NZD = roughly $100 USD I am using Raspberry Pi 3 model B for the brains of the project as it has built in WIFI which is perfect for this. Building this mirror was my first taste of the Pi, and it was delicious... My home theater is far away from my bed and the remote is unreachable there. Many a time, I thought of controlling the home theater from my bed to enjoy music anytime (due to laziness of course). So, I did some search and found this great video from GreatScott. That video provided me enough information to get started. Then further, I taught myself the remaining things to send and receive IR codes from IR receiver and transmitter. After building this you'll be able to control anything that is unreachable from your spot, provided you have enough wires.

EEGs are a noninvasive way to look into your brain. While the brain is extremely complex, areas of it can lock into circular firing patterns, resulting in telltale brain waves that one can observe with the right equipment. Intensity of these waves change depending on your internal state. The waves we will be most easily able to distinguish are alpha and beta waves -- alpha waves occur at around 8-12 Hz and when measured from the frontal lobe provide an estimate of how relaxed a person is, while beta waves are around 12-30 Hz and correspond to how much a person is concentrating or how alert they are. The concentration of each wave can also tell more specific things about your thought patterns depending on where you measure them from.
