When I have a daughter, she is going to learn how to code at a young age. I’ll make sure that she starts taking lessons right around the time she learns how to write in cursive. I never learned how to write code, so maybe I’ll take lessons with her, even if that means an after school tutor.

This OverBlog is very hard to navigate and there's no search, which is infuriating. Also, they say "no porn" which, as it is a "know it when I see it" thing, means anyone dealing with sexuality in any form likely isn't welcome. Instead, OverBlog says adult folks should go to their other site, http://www.erog.fr/ ~ however, that is also confusing and lacks search ~ and is also all in French.
Laura Brown's comment, March 19, 2013 9:44 PM
Sites which offer blogs like this are way out of date and out of touch with the current situation on the Internet. The "free blog" thing has come and gone. Pick Blogger.com or WordPress.com and be done with it. Anything else is too risky and not likely to stick around very long.

Roald Dahl Dreams Up a World of Pure Imagination - AMC Blog - AMC | Online Writing | Scoop.it

On the other hand, Dahl believed that the secret formula for success in children's writing was "conspiring with children against adults." He said, "It's the path to their affections. It may be simplistic, but it is the way. Parents and schoolteachers are the enemy. The adult is the enemy of the child -- because of the awful process of civilizing this thing that is born as an animal with no manners, no moral sense at all."

Sharilee Swaity's insight:

Niche blogs are the way to go  now, right? Well, this writer begs to differ. I have been searching for something, anything that says general blogging might be okay ... because sometimes niches seem so darn tiring, and this is what I found. Awesome post, with a phenomenal discussion that follows.

Laura Brown's comment, March 1, 2013 10:09 PM
I've always thought of myself as a niche blogger. But, not any of the popular niches. I don't know what the fuss is about being a Mother or parent and being in that niche. No one tightly fits any niche, we all have our own individual interests and create a niche based on that.
Sharilee Swaity's comment, March 2, 2013 11:15 AM
Laura, I like that ... a niche based on you. Like the OP pointed out, the niches we often see are based on marketers wishes to sell their product. I like your perspective on niche.
Laura Brown's comment, March 2, 2013 3:42 PM
Thank you. I create my niche blogs around an interest or hobby, like the urban exploration or text art. Each interest brings in it's own aspects of other things. If you really get involved in a hobby it does take over or find it's way into your life and you bring yourself into it too. I was annoyed reading the article being anti-niche blogging because it comes from someone who seems to take a very narrow minded view about what a niche and a blog itself is in the first place.

Social content curation is an important building block of your inbound marketing strategy.

If you have many clients for which you need to curate content, you need to have so many profiles for all the social media accounts etc for their respective industries. Any good tools for managing these and managing mentions and more across all the accounts.

When curating content, it is essential to perfectly categorize the main subject of your curation interest in subtopic. For instance, I subcategorize SEO into its different facets:
