Quote "Behind Facebook, there was a crowded field of second-place contenders, with Google+ out front at 26% of internet users. In the US, Google+ gets limited attention, though its user base is growing. Worldwide, however, Google+ has been much more successful. Given that YouTube was right behind, in use by one-quarter of active internet users, there’s no question that Google, which owns YouTube, is giving Facebook a run for its money in the global social network space. A media plan is just as important as a business plan! I'm always surprised how many businesses operate without a written business plan, same for media, it makes a huge difference!
Shiv Batta's comment,

It has become clear that social media is turning into quite the process. It’s becoming more and more important, so many different tools and advice columns keep popping up to help businesses and individuals stay organized and successful when it comes to this newer marketing effort. This has caused many companies to create a full-time social media position for experts to help manage the many social accounts, follow analytics, get creative with engagement, etc. It takes a lot of time and effort, but the payoff is only increasing as social involvement increase.

Interesting that writing skill is such a low priority for social media personnel (only 18%). Might be why only 5% of companies are happy with their social media activities :-)

G+ is catching up big time for many reasons. Among these reasons is the Hangout integration.
We just facilitated a remote 1.5 day leadership development session with Hangouts and it was fantastic.
Google is sticking to their strategy and their value is starting to win people over. I was never a fan and, through valuable features, I am changing my perspective on the suite of offerings.

In the midst of all of this, social media, the darling of the blogsphere, changed everything again. Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, in particular, have ushered PR into the era of authentic discourse. Press materials have turned into social content and briefings into conversations. It’s not about scripting the dialogue (although we do scrutinize our press releases much more closely since they are often reprinted verbatim!), but about participating in the conversation. Where do we go from here? Mary Meeker’s most recent iteration of her “Internet Trends Year-End Report” showed that mobile traffic has grown to account for 13 percent of Web traffic. As Meeker’s “re-imagining of everything” has pointed out, the only certainty is change, and mobile will play a starring role.

Pretty impressive. Lots of features!
Looks really useful for live online sessions and when used in tendem with Skype for audio interactions this provides a good alternative to web-conferncing tools like WiZiQ or Adobe Connect Pro.
