China's e-commerce raked up a whopping $ 2.68 trillion in 2014, registering a 59.4 per cent jump from the year before despite a slowdown in the world's second-largest economy. China's
e-commerce trade soared in 2014 thanks to improved Internet infrastructure and an increase in cellphone users, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

China's e-commerce sales reported as $2.68 Trillion last year, the fire fuelled by mobile which drove a 59% Sales increase - China's numbers get more mind boggling each time they are released.

Retail sales on tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices will reach $333.99 billion this year in China, according to eMarketer’s latest estimates of retail sales around
the world, up 85.1% from 2014. That figure represents 49.7% of all retail ecommerce sales in the country this year. This estimate puts retail mcommerce sales in China at nearly 450% of those in the
US, where such sales are expected to rise 32.2% in 2015.

Mobile commerce continues to grow while the opposite is true for desktop activity. A few months back, the tides turned as desktop visits to retail website fell below the 50% point as mobile took over.
That shift is continuing with mobile now accounting for 52% of all visits, according to the latest Branding Brand mobile commerce index. That regular tracking report is based on an analysis of 50
websites with 72 million visits and $86 million in revenue.

tracking index. Smartphones now account for 35% of all traffic and 18% of orders, according to the quarterly Demandware shopping index.
