Search for baby bodies at Gin Gin property | OHS and Police | Scoop.it
POLICE are digging up parts of a rural property where they believe a number of fetuses or babies’ bodies may be buried.
Renee Sorbello's insight:

This is just sickening!!! The sad truth of life in the police force and the disturbing things they face. You don't really think about this side of OHS, however it is vital that those in such highly erratic and stressful job have measures that are put into place to lesson the burn out rate.

Officers were injured after falling off seats, falling down potholes and being hit by fellow officers.
Renee Sorbello's insight:

While I may never get the opportunity to work overseas this story interested me for the simple fact of the huge OHS risk here. Mt main focus was the paragraph of a forensic officer potentially contracting HIV.

NOTE TO SELF: be prepared for any and all possibilities when entering an investigation scene!!!

The latest craze hitting your suburbs, the Facebook list party!! The report states some were as young as 11, now how in gods name do we anticipate such behaviour from minors and then put into practice OHS procedures when juveniles are involved?? Cop hit with drug bag in Gold Coast raid

Cop hit with drug bag in Gold Coast raid | OHS and Police | Scoop.it

While it may not have caused any damageA police officer has been struck with a bag of drugs hurled from a 14th-floor balcony during a raid on the Gold Coast.

Renee Sorbello's insight:

While it may not have caused any damage, there could have potentially been further consequences of an incident such as this. For example if the officer had an open wound, or some of the drugs infected the officers eyes or mouth they may have then become under the influence. This would then turn into being made to leave the scene, forced time off etc. OHS does have a strict outline when serving in the police force!!
