Jeremy S. Jordan's comment, January 6, 2012 8:44 AM
I wanted to personally make comment on this. Obviously, I'm a huge Ohio State fan, so this season stung...especially losing to Michigan, even though the pass late in the Fourth Quarter could have changed the outcome. However, I think a lot of Michigan fans are not giving enough credit to RichRod.

Truth is, the jury is still out on Brady Hoke. He largely took RichRod's team he built for the past three years and succeeded with them. Those players have played together now for three and four years and hit a stride together. Couple that with a few other coaching changes and they did have quite an improved season.

However, we really don't know what Brady Hoke will do over the long haul. We also don't know how the Michigan fan base will react if things change next year. Michigan did also benefit from an 8-home game schedule, a few lucky plays in several games and a schedule that did not force them to play Wisconsin or Penn State. In fact, if the scandal at Penn State did not happen, PSU probably played Virginia Tech, not Michigan.

Michigan, in all honesty, finished fourth in the regular season, behind Wisky, Sparty and the Nittany Lions, although that didn't reflect in the BCS rankings. When they have to go on the road next year and faced more improved teams, we'll see how "back" they are.

Commentary: OSU deserved title consideration in ’96

I always thought the 1996 Ohio State Buckeyes should have received more recognition for their 11-1 record after beating Arizona State in the Rose Bowl, but OSU finished second in the Associated Press voting to 11-1 Florida.
