Barn Players "Spring Awakening" review by SwizzleStick | KC Stage Reviews

While watching the Barn Players production of Spring Awakening, I had to keep pinching myself to remind me where I was. Was I at the Barn? No, surely I was at the Rep or somewhere highly professional! But, no, I was at the Barn!

This show is a stunner. Eric Magnus has put together the real package here, from set to lights to costumes to musical direction to the choreography to his own staging and then, of course, the wonderful cast. Wow.

It really makes a big difference to have live musicians so perhaps it is unfair to compare this production to the one recently at the Coterie. But they are light years apart, this one being far, far superior. If you read this before the show closes, do yourself a favor and go see it.

Barn Players "Spring Awakening" review by tcclarke1 | KC Stage Reviews

Every now and again, a show will come along that will really WOW you. Ever since it's inception, Spring Awakening has been that show for me. Each production I see brings something different to the plate, and The Barn Players is no exception. Comparisons to the Coterie's recent production are inevitable, but luckily both shows shine independently of one another.
