This was my first time seeing a production of A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas, and I was pleasantly surprised.
The acting is well done all around, and the costumes were absolutely superb. (Kelly Sears as Mrs. Starr was particularly delightful with an over-the-top performance that contrasted well with the very dignified and proper Ingalls.)
With that said, there were two things I felt could have improved the production. In most instances the actors pantomime the objects in their hands, versus holding actual props, and there are two boxes used for the entire show that, at times, make a distracting sound when pushed across the stage. Overall, however, these proved to be minor hindrances to an otherwise excellent production.
Special kudos go out to the young Abby Miller (Laura Ingalls) who shines in her first lead role and London Smith (Carrie Ingalls), who made my heart melt with every line. (And the tenor in the back of the choir who added the comedic flair to '12 Days'. Marvelous!)
It’s late morning and a dim light filters in through the stained glass windows at the chapel at Park University. Lithuanian-Israeli violinist Ben Sayevich, and his wife Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich rehearse with a handful of students onstage at Park University’s Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel.
Imagine our city, leading content-driven production. Modernizing technology and combining media strategy with artistic integrity. Kansas City inspires invention. Our city is flourishing with creativity and innovation; we will further prosper by reinstating an official production office.
'Temptress' is the first song from Act Two of IAMEVE's unreleased three-act concept album, The Everything Nothing. Throughout the album, Eve journeys through Metropolis-Orwellian inspired worlds, as she simultaneously steps into her feminine power and searches for her one true love: Starman.
I asked 4 friends to send me a video of them dancing. Only stipulations: 1. The video must be under 5 minutes 2. You have to be blindfolded. The video was edited to ABBA's tune "Fernando" that Audra Brandt had originally used in her video.
