“In @MerriamWebster We Trust!”: You're in America! Twitter Account Corrects Dumb Grammar RT @mashable Who would have thought a Twitter account could gain nearly 8,000 followers in 60 tweets over 3 days -- just by correcting one piece of poor grammar over and over?
That’s what happened to @yourinamerica, an account entirely devoted to naming, shaming and correcting every tweet that contains the hideously illiterate statement “your [sic] in America.” Invariably, what follows that phrase is the ironic admonition: “learn English.”

WE´LL never forget: Dallas, almost Nov. 21, 1963.. JFK "Wanted for Treason" (handbills) "(John F. Kennedy) Original "Wanted for Treason" Handbill. John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) 35th President. On November 21, 1963 "Wanted for Treason" handbills were distributed on the streets of Dallas, before Kennedy's scheduled visit. These handbills bore a reproduction of a front and profile photograph of the President and set forth a series of inflammatory charges against him. Robert A. Surrey was eventually identified as the author of the handbill. Surrey, a printing salesman employed by Johnson Printing Co. of Dallas, had been closely associated with General Edwin Walker."

25,000 signatures! But why #Texas?!! #secession by @Stacy_Carey @examinercom "Much of the United States may be moving on from the 2012 presidential election, but buzz of a Texas secession effort is gaining steam. This may sound a bit familiar to some that recall similar buzz after the 2008 election. This one, however, seems to be gaining traction quickly. Nov. 12 Dallas News shared the latest details."

There's a total solar eclipse today! Here's how to watch! #Science #space RT @CNET A total solar eclipse promises a special show for stargazers tomorrow -- the first to happen on Earth since mid-2010. Read this article by Christopher MacManus on CNET.
"Did you know a total solar eclipse occurs tomorrow? Unfortunately, unless you live around certain areas in Australia or find yourself floating in the South Pacific Ocean, you won't really see the full effect -- unless you observe the phenomenon online. If you want to catch the rare moment where the moon passes between Earth and the sun, Space.com recommends tuning in to the Slooh space camera Web site or a live feed by Tourism Tropical North Queensland on UStream."

Washington becomes the first state in the union to legalize marijuana @nytimes A look at some of the most notable races and ballot measures that voters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia will decide on Election Day.... "Washington voters legalized marijuana for people over 21. The ballot initiative legalizes marijuana not merely for those who need it for medical reasons, but also for those who want it for the fun of it. The new law, which may face a challenge from the federal authorities that continue to classify marijuana as an illegal drug, limits how much of the drug’s component chemical, THC, a person may have in the blood in order to drive legally".
