OPS_0031.pdf

Michael Senior's insight:

To be able to instruct others in the art of gliding one must first understand what is required of the instructor. If the instructor doesn't know what to do then how can the student learn. Guidelines are really important for flying and many other jobs/activities today. Without instructors or teachers most tasks would require self learning which would be slow. But an instructor can help with mistakes and speed up the process of learning how to fly.

Gliding OHS with Joe.

Gliding OHS with Joe. | Aviation, OHS and Me | Scoop.it
Michael Senior's insight:

Joe is a glider pilot and enjoys flying and doing aerobatics. Being a pilot is challenging and difficult. Being a glider pilot is very challenging because of the limited amount of ability that the aircraft can do. The OHS of being a glider pilot is thinking about what happens if I do this, how will this effect my performance. Ending up in a fireball is not what pilots want to happen, so thinking ahead and being smart and using initiative to overcome problems is what a pilot is trained to do.

Theodore the Climber, Mountain and Rock Climbing OHS.

Theodore the Climber, Mountain and Rock Climbing OHS. | Aviation, OHS and Me | Scoop.it

Theodore is a great rock climber and often enjoys the results of the top of the cliff or mountain that he climbs. The OHS issues that might be expected in climbing are slips, falling and exhaustion. Slipping or having the rock break underneath your feet is not good especially when climbing. Falling can occur if the ground breaks or you misjudge the ahead environment. Exhaustion can either be heat exhaustion or dehydration. Both can lead to death, but the reward at the end of the climb is very rewarding.

Michael Senior's insight:

In 5 years time I would like to work for Air Services Australia, directing aircraft into airports. Aviation has interested be since high school and I have had flying lessons to become a pilot. Now%20You're%20Solo.pdf

Michael Senior's insight:

For someone to be able to travel across vast distances the person must be marked according to a checklist. The marker must be the CFI or Chief Flying Instructor. The CFI is the most experienced instructor who can allow people to do their first solo and can allow them to take others with them on flights. Being allowed to travel long distances in a glider is awesome but to do that a lot of hard work must go into it.

SportF001_ABC_Claim.pdf

Michael Senior's insight:

As you advance is flying a glider the pilot can apply for different certificates which prove your proficiency of how well the pilot can operate the aircraft. Different levels require more skill and knowledge on how to obtain more time in the air which is key for glider pilots. More theory on aircraft rules and regulations are important for the pilot to know to ensure safe law abiding flight.

Golf OHS with Jarred. | Aviation, OHS and Me | Scoop.it

Jarred here plays golf and often in golf the OHS issues that can be experienced at a golf course is the possibility of being hit by golf balls. When playing golf, golfers often wait until the person or group in front is out of the way. By doing so this limits the possibility of hitting a person with a golf ball. Also the person hitting the ball should always yell fore when the ball travels near the group in front.
