6 BIG Reasons Why Big Cats Don't Belong in Circuses

6 BIG Reasons Why Big Cats Don't Belong in Circuses | Oceans and Wildlife | Scoop.it

Just like elephants, big cats suffer when they are tormented and abused by circuses. The only difference is, for lions and tigers, there is no end in sight.

QIU NINGYU's comment, May 25, 8:39 AM
The zoos and circuses are the animal prisons set up to satisfy the curiosity of mankind. These places forced animals to be away from their natural habitat, incarcerated them in cages for a lifetime. And the animals are even compelled to learn some silly performances in order to please humans. Animal performances in circuses have seriously deprived the welfare of the animals and jeopardised their natural instinct. The process of pursuing freedom is an inalienable part in human’s history of civilization. Yearning for freedom is also deeply incarnated in the animals just like the way it is in human beings. They have an intrinsic like for freedom and fear for captivity, and the latter is exactly what the zoos and circuses use to entertain the audience. Animals are not toys designed for human beings, they have their free will just like us. Understanding the cruel fact dissembled under the seemingly cute entertainment of animal performances starts from oneself. Say no to animal performances.
