Enjoyed a week-long visit to New Orleans over the New Years holiday in December 2011. During the visit, I proposed to my wonderful sweetie, Annette, under a beautiful old oak tree during a tour of Oak Alley Plantation. It was unexpected, unplanned and unrehearsed ... and just perfect!!! And when we told our Cleveland (Olmsted Falls), Ohio area pastor about the proposal, it turned out his brother works at the plantation.
If you are visiting Louisiana you have got to make a stop at the beautiful Oak Alley plantation. This gorgeous mansion is located nearby the Mississippi River, and is famous for its driveway lined with enormous oak trees.
My favorite tree is the Live Oak and I have always been fascinated by plantations! My son's middle name is Rhett for goodness sake! So, one afternoon, we travelled to Oak Alley Plantation which was gorgeous!
