5 Easy-To-Use Websites For Infographics | NYL - News YOU Like | Scoop.it

Communicating effectively in our era of information overload means moving beyond static words and numbers. Images and graphics carry meaning in a way that cuts through verbal clutter. That’s why infographics have become such powerful tools, used by companies large and small to communicate with employees, customers and the broader public.

Traditionally, creating infographics has required the services of a skilled design professional and a sizable budget for expert time and talent. With a range of new web services, the cost and complexity of creating infographics has fallen dramatically.

In my latest book on business credit it discusses the value of crowd-funding and Indigogo as they will fund anything unlike Kickstarter that specializes in Media oriented endeavors.

Good insight from Iron Dane Richards. Easier to create a sure takeaway from Indigogo too since they will let campaigns increase the house take and walk away with something where Kickstarter is all or nothing. Either the campaign meets its goals or it gets nothing. 42% of the campaigns on Kickstarter meet their goals and most campaigns are funded at $10,000 or below.

Nonprofits are also looking to crowdfunding -- but it has a dark underbelly as well.

5 Science Infographics Everyone Should See

5 Science Infographics Everyone Should See | NYL - News YOU Like | Scoop.it

The best science infographics make data digestible, accessible and visually appealing, without skimping on the relevant facts. Some are for scientists, organizing massive amounts of data in a way that’s powerfully useful; while others are designed for a lay audience, illustrating complex concepts simply, like the science behind the Higgs Boson or evolution. It’s in this latter category that science infographics are making the most obvious widespread impact.

Here are five science infographics for non-scientists that will change the way you see the world.
