Kiggiak-EBA Showcases its GIS Poster on the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk Highway (ITH)
The 2013 Esri International User Conference is taking place from July 8 to 12 in San Diego. Kiggiak-EBA, as part of Tetra Tech, is showcasing its GIS poster on the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk Highway (ITH) in the Map Gallery at the conference!
Many environmental, social and engineering factors contributed to the development of the ITH highway. GIS was used to inform the design, consultation and permitting process.
Some of the data that was mapped included:
Field work results of Grizzly Bear den surveys and fish habitat surveysLocation of residential leases that may be impacted by increased trafficProximity to appropriate construction materials (borrow sources)Location of archaeological sites
