Jonathan S. Foer, author of the 2009 book, Eating Animals" speaks of engaging people with a "modesty of tone". He does on to say that the conversation must be a forgiving one. Wise words for all of us to follow whether it's food or politics we're discussing. Be thoughtful of others.

Sandi Cornez's curator insight, April 28, 2014 2:34 PM

Are you experiencing cravings for certain foods? Whether you're wanting salty, sweet, creamy, meaty, or choclaty, it's your body's way of saying it's deficient in certain nutrients.

And your body may also be telling you that it's dehydrated. It's best to start your day with at least 8 ounces of water, preferably filtered, pure, or ionized with a filter. Drinking the water may be all your body needs and then the cravings disappear.Drink throughout the day and wait a half hour to see if your cravings disappear. Another good tips is to eat more foods that have a high water content like cucumber, watermelon, strawberries, oranges, grapefruit,  cantaloupe, lettuce, zucchini, radish, celery, tomato, to name a few.

Craving sweets? You may be experiencing blood sugar fluctuations. Giving in to this craving results in more cravings and eventually chronic disease. Better to have a piece of low-glycemic fruit and pair it with a high fiber carbohydrate that is high in protein like beans, legumes, nuts and ancient grains which keep your blood sugar stable.

Read the rest of this informative article to get all the juice details on what you're body is really craving.
