The Secret to Youth + Beauty: Eat Your Water

The Secret to Youth + Beauty: Eat Your Water | Nutrient Dense foods | Scoop.it
We believe that eating your water is equally, if not more important than drinking it. Why? Because proper cellular hydration means liveliness, a youthful complexion, ecstatically dancing little cells, and a proper detoxification system. You guys…not only is hydration so important, but once you master the art of keeping it up, it feels oh so good. Hydration is the basis of all health and wellness, as your body is composed of 60% water. If the inner workings of your precious system aren’t getting the lubrication they so crave, they’re going to break down, which is of course, the cause of pre-mature aging. For the body to function properly, we need to consume more than two liters of water a day (not accounting for the two cups of water that should be replaced for every cup of coffee or tea). And rather than guzzling that much liquid between meals – which in itself can be difficult on an over-worked digestion – if we consciously choose to consume more of our water from high-vibe living fruits and veggies, the body will immediately learn to absorb all essential nutrients more efficiently! Meaning that not only should you be picking up the water bottle, but you should be picking up a fork-full of the most hydrating ingredients your body craves.

Do you ever find recipes labeled “easy” can still be time consuming? The other night I was putting together a casserole, which was very simple but by the time I cooked the rice, chopped all the vegetables and cut up my chicken it took about an hour of prep work. I know for myself as well as what our clients report, the amount of time it takes to put a meal together is often as important as the ease of skills. A recipe may be incredibly simple but if it takes 25 minutes or more to prep it may be a difficult one to pull together for a busy week night.

Montebello Kitchens's insight:
you must try our Baobab citronette dressing. Indigenous people in Africa often turn baobab into a thickening agent for soups, pound it to extract its nutritious oils, or enjoy it plain. The nutrient-rich fruit has also been used medicinally to treat asthma, bug bites, and skin conditions. Though it's relatively foreign outside its native Africa, baobab has been the subject of international health studies recently. The fruit has nearly five times the potassium of bananas and 10 times the vitamin C of oranges. It's thought to have more antioxidants per serving than other superfoods like açai and goji berries, and it's super rich in soluble fiber. If consumed regularly, baobab could help improve blood cholesterol levels and heart health, control blood sugar levels, slow digestion, and facilitate fat burn.
