Infographics are fast becoming the way to share details and analytics that move way beyond the standard pie charts used by many businesses in terms of "telling the story".

Here's another good example that highlights the importance of social media for content creators and how the smartphone platforms must be considered when creating content. It's not just a smartphone anymore, it's become the canvas!

Throughout the history of the Internet, there has been an evolution of web standards.

Due to these transformations, today, “the number of devices connected to the Internet exceeds the number of people on Earth.”

This infographic wakes up a desire for a unified online experience in the future. Developers for mobile, tablets, laptops, TV:s, cars, intelligent homes and all other potential devices that will be connected in the future must rethink their urge to get a quick fix and find a seamless way for humans to use technology.

6 Basic Benefits Of Game-Based Learning

6 Basic Benefits Of Game-Based Learning | Tecnologia & Ensino | Scoop.it

There seems to be a perception that online gaming has a detrimental impact on children’s development. Nothing could be further from the truth, and there are countless–and complex–reasons for this, but it also makes sense at the basic benefits of game-based learning.

These benefits also apply to adults using game-based learning for business or personal develoment.

Dr.Revathi Viswanath's curator insight, April 19, 2013 7:07 AM

Very true. It does help children to be more attentive and develops their level of concentration.

Tamra Dollar's curator insight, July 21, 2013 1:22 PM

Game-based-learning lines up with Marzano's brain-based-strategies. While games in and of themselves (like any technology) are a vehicle for learning that must be follow-up with real life connections and applications or we've given our students..well..just another game to play.

The problem with high-tech ‘personalized’ learning tools

The problem with high-tech ‘personalized’ learning tools | Tecnologia & Ensino | Scoop.it

I couldn’t help feeling a bit disturbed at SXSWedu last week, hearing tech vendors and venture capitalists use the term “personalized learning” as though it was 1) new (what, exactly, do these people think has been going on in human brains for millennia??) and 2) a ground-breaking thing that could only be enabled through their proprietary technology.

Nik Peachey's curator insight, March 25, 2013 4:02 AM

I have to say I agree with so much of this. I really like this quote "True personalized learning comes from people knowing each other; man-made interventions can facilitate, but not fully replace, the cognitive or emotional value of meaningful in-person interaction."

I think we need to concentrate more on connecting people to each other to learn, not connecting them to materials.

Why I Flip-Flopped on the Flipped Classroom

Why I Flip-Flopped on the Flipped Classroom | Tecnologia & Ensino | Scoop.it

As our classroom shifted from teacher- to student-centered, my students began to do the majority of their own research. Sometimes, this means they teach each other. Sometimes, they create a project around the knowledge they are acquiring. Sometimes, they create their own driving questions. Sometimes, they create their own units.

How the bubble of Content Creation increases the value of Content Curation

How the bubble of Content Creation increases the value of Content Curation | Tecnologia & Ensino | Scoop.it

"My 2013 prediction warned of the continued fall in the value of online content which would lead to the production of ever more content as media companies tried to maintain ad revenues.

You can think of it as a towering tsunami of content, or as a massive bubble of content inflation.

Just as inflation devalues currencies, content inflation is devaluing content."

I think I do but I'm not sure of the connexion you make with content inflation/dilution?
Tagmotion's comment, March 3, 2013 10:59 PM
If we look at content inflation through the lens of making money, it's clear that in terms of monetization through advertising, the internet is the first medium in history where ad inventory grows exponentially every year. Broadcasters are only making real money from iconic TV programs that attract big audiences on the web, for which advertisers will pay a premium to reach. Curating iconic programs - so that relevant segments show up as search results - turns content inflation on its head. Now you have content that's tagged, curated & discoverable at a granular level. And that specificity translates to more highly-targeted advertising which, of course, commands a premium.

Good point here by Nathaniel Mott on PandoDaily. But as he writes, Facebook remains edited by an algorithm that has to make some trade-offs between revenue generation and relevancy. Isn't that a fundamental flaw?

To date, no body of research has definitively proved that the iPad will make your preschooler smarter or teach her to speak Chinese, or alternatively that it will rust her neural circuitry—the device has been out for only three years, not much more than the time it takes some academics to find funding and gather research subjects. So what’s a parent to do?

This article discusses technology for children and the way they play their games on things like iPad's tablets and more. Research has shown that since children started playing mind rattling games on these resources they have improved their ability to learn at a young age. This is why it is important that applications for children continue to advance. So if you read this article you will realize that this form of technology is important.
