Why Many Young Chinese Women Are Writing Gay Male Erotica | North America and South America with Asia! | Scoop.it
An antipornography campaign in China has netted many young female writers of danmei, erotic fiction focusing on relationships between gay men, a popular outlet for those seeking to escape stifling social identities, scholars say.
Vivian Le's insight:

~Asia~

-Social-

Yes, you are not blind, I am not blind, we are not blind, this article talks about Chinese, heterosexual women writing gay fiction. I found this article intriguing due to the discrimination and  cultural tradition opposing "maleXmale", yaoi, or "BL" (Boy Love) in many countries, including China.

EQ: With being under the eye of society, women have a tough time expressing their likes and works, worrying if it will be criticized or not. What do you feel about yaoi and the people that love producing it? Does it damage/threaten or change their identity?

After reading this article, I was appalled to read that the Chinese Coast Guard would go great lengths to claim the Scarborough Shoal as their own even though the area is rightfully shared with the Phillipines too.
