Memo to Modi: How to reboot India

Memo to Modi: How to reboot India | Asia, North America and South America | Scoop.it
Narendra Modi has to make India more competitive, with less corruption and better infrastructure, writes Ravi Agrawal
Reina & Thalia's insight:

(political)

As a whole, the recent election of India's president, Narendra Modi, has prompted uproarious clamor from both supporters and skepticists alike. Such a controversial reaction has made it clear to the goverment that the people's mounting distress may soon be confronted by social instability, consequently forcing the hands of officials to call upon national police forces to patrol the streets each day. Political and civil opposition are not the only facets that Modi's newly attained position entails; standards of exceptional achievement have been thrust upon him and there are many predicaments to be resolved.

EQ: Will this election hail positive change in India's economic growth?

Reina & Thalia's insight:

~EQ: Following your observation, relate the total followers of Christianity with the total number of the remaining faiths and speculate as to why the United States has been influenced and dominated in such a way.

Mexico

Mexico | Asia, North America and South America | Scoop.it

Society's various functions and etiquette.

Reina & Thalia's insight:

(Social)

When Thalia and I read this, the blunt mentioning of the hierarchy  embedded within the infrastructure of this culture's methods of interaction instantly led us to ponder how society functioned in the past and how this circumstance is still prevalent in modern times. As seen here, the vast majority of Mexico's economy is governed by one social category while the middle-class relies on thier minimum wages, and the more diminutive classes survives off of a daily compensation for laboring in respects of the head of thier society-not to mention that throughout all of this, the culture is perceivably patriarchal.

~EQ: Predict how and why the primeval social classes of Mexico's society may be modified over time, if at all.

Although the verdict for this case has not yet been serialized or even administered by the jury, the illegal hacking conducted by Chinese military officers has secured an official position in the Federal Court and galvanized our own goverment and political members to bolster our technological security.

Venezuela’s protests are dividing South America, and not just along the usual ideological lines

Venezuela’s protests are dividing South America, and not just along the usual ideological lines | Asia, North America and South America | Scoop.it
Sometimes it takes a crisis to find out who's got your back.  Such is the case for  the government in Venezuela, where massive, and at times deadly, protests are being waged against the country's leadership. North America: Physical Geography

North America: Physical Geography | Asia, North America and South America | Scoop.it
Encyclopedic entry. North America, the third-largest continent, extends from the tiny Aleutian Islands in the northwest to the Isthmus of Panama in the south.
Reina & Thalia's insight:

(Area/Geography)

As fellow Americans and inhabitants of North America's broad and divergent landscape, we have already been predisposed to adjusting ourselves to both our mild or varying climates and the extraordinary geography of the region. America contains a multitude of looming mountain ranges, untamed and lush spaces of forest, arid, intimidating deserts, and crests of fertile slopes. In a word, our particular geography is an unlikely yet wholly distinguishing factor in what defines North America's physical characteristics and provides us with our nourishing resources and, consequently, we thought this piece demonstrated those aspects well.

~EQ:  Applying prior knowledge and any newly acquired information, briefly compare and contrast the varying geographical and climate divisions of North America. Analyze the underlying reasons why more people live in America or around the southernmost borders of Canada rather than in its native, northern lands.

North America

North America | Asia, North America and South America | Scoop.it
Reina & Thalia's insight:

(Economy)

At the inception of its illustrated examination in1994, the net domestic production and imports of North America shortly corresponded with one another, even though our received parcels admittedly tended to remain hovered above its counterpart. Soonafter, in 1995, the two lines began to exhibit a notable fluctuation as they visibly separated. At the latter end of the graph, the rates cease the trend and converge once more, but immediately show promise of splintering as it projects the probable occurrences of North America's commerce in the approaching year of 2014. We thought, perhaps, more than a mere economy may be the culprit in these alterations.

~EQ: Infering from past events dating back to the 90's, propose a reason why North America's production and import rates differed in this way. What sort of happenings transpired in between these years that could have impacted production?
