According to Peru Education policy, education in Peru is compulsory for children from the age of 7 years to 16 years. Secondary education in the government institutions in Peru is free of cost. Free secondary education was introduced in 1946. According to an estimate in 2000 the adult literacy rate was 10.1% in Peru.

INTELLECTUAL-  Peru's education policy says it is compulsory for kids from 7-16 to have basic education. Free secondary education was introduced in 1946. According to an estimate in 2000 the adult literacy rate was 10.1% in Peru. Higher education is given much importance and people pursuing a post-graduate degree get better job opportunities in Peru.

SOCIAL- Countdown to World Cup, 2014. Brazil is hosting this years World Cup and thier national team is favorited to win. Brazil is the only country to host the world cup 3 different times. They looked strong defeating South Africa 5-0 on March 5th.

AREA/GEOG- The Andes mountain range is the worlds longest mountain range. Located along the entire western coast of South America, the Andes mountain range is about 4,500 miles (7,242 kilometers) long. The only mountains that are taller than the Andes are the Himalaya Mountains and their adjacent ranges, including the Hindu Kush.

North Korea has confirmed an American retiree and Korean War veteran has been detained for "hostile acts" against the communist country and released a written apology for his alleged crimes. The KCNA report said Merril Newman had been accused of committing crimes both as a tourist and during his participation in the Korean War.
