Soundhunters Home

Soundhunters Home | Nonprofit Storytelling | Scoop.it

Via Eva Dominguez
Barbara Ganley's insight:
THE SOUNDHUNTERS PROJECTWe live in a multicultural society with lots of languages. But one language is missing. The SOUNDHUNTERS project aims to create a new, universal language. A language of sounds, a language of music.

Who can do that better than a soundhunter? These are people who walk around with their ears open and listen carefully – footsteps in rustling leaves, fragments of speech, laughter – and are inspired to create amazing things.

Here you can be a sound hunter too. You will be both an observer and a participant in a collective international musical experience. Use REC to record sounds from the world around you. Press WATCH to be inspired by four interactive films. Click CREATE to compose your own tracks, communicate with soundhunters all over the world, and join the SOUNDHUNTERS project through exciting competitions.
Immerse yourself in the SOUNDHUNTERS universe.

Barbara Ganley's insight:

Fabulous example of the power of the first-person narrative -- it is her story and only hers, and as such has an impact that no "captured" story can.

Technology and The Evolution of Storytelling — ART & SCIENCE — Medium

Technology and The Evolution of Storytelling - ART & SCIENCE - Medium
by John Lasseter

It is such an exciting time to be a filmmaker.

I do not believe the notion that the cinema is dying or dead because it’s amazing what technology can do to the cinematic storytelling.

What’s great about film is it constantly reinvents itself. It started as a sheer novelty, those images moving on the screen.

Then it went and every step of the way a new technology started being added — sound, color.

What happens is the film grammar of storytelling evolves and changes as well. The technology goes directly with the evolution of the storytelling

Want a Better Pitch? Watch This. - Firm Narrative - Medium
When leaders ask me to help them tell better stories, I always start by sending them this video.
Barbara Ganley's insight:

Five keys to successful pitches:

1. Name the enemy

2. Answer "Why now?"

3. Show the promised land before explaining how you'll get there.

4. Identify obstacles -- then explain how you'll overcome them.

5. Present evidence that you're not just blowing hot air.
