A compelling mission will pull them in. Keeping them is the greater challenge. So how can organizations truly retain energetic and vibrant young talent? Two strategies: Engage and develop. Engagement has a lot to do with acculturation. Often times young talent aren't appropriately on-boarded into the organization. Development is training and then some. I think skill identification and asking the question "how do I utilize this individual?" is also a part of it.

Non-Profit reporting should be about impact. Not admin costs, not, percentages. It should tell a story to potential donors as to the results their donations will produce. Sounds like a business, doesn't it? Ken

Bill. This is so true. As board chair of a nonpfofit, I work very hard with the executive director and executive committee to make sue each board memebr is engaged and board meeting are fun, exciting and engaging. It is hard work but makes for a much better organization.
