Tips for writing stronger fundraising copy

Speak (I mean out loud) what you want to write. Then write what you said; how you said it.

“We have a very tough product to sell.” That’s Mindy Tarlow, the CEO of Center for Employment Opportunities. You can’t tell by the name of the organization, but that “tough product” is people--men and women recently released from prison.

Storytelling is the No. 1 tool I'd recommend to change minds and raise money. Center for Employment Opportunities had a tough product to sell - employment for people released from prison. With MTV's help, they changed a few things: put together a corporate video, created a new presentation template, and most important, 'repurposed storytelling assets from photos and interviews with clients.' Time to take stock of your storytelling assets!
