'Airline co-branded cards offer advantages for consumers seeking longer haul premium class rewards. However, bank travel reward cards enjoy widespread appeal because of the simple and effective promise made to consumers – “travel anytime on any airline.”'

As you may have read, Delta and Starwood have now introduced Crossover Rewards where Delta SkyMiles Medallion (elite) members will now earn miles when staying at Starwood hotels and SPG elite members will now earn Starpoints when flying Delta.

Credit Card Column announced their Top 10 AIrline Credit Cards. The rankings are determined by quality of the frequent flyer miles offer, introductory APRs, On-going rates, perks associated with the card, and the quality of the customer service of the issuing bank.


Their number one was the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card (offers double miles on every purchase with no annual fee).

Fitch Ratings anticipate minimal impact of the American Airlines AAdvantage credit card (Citibank) securities due to the merger with US Airways. It is still unclear how the AAdvantage program and Dividend Mile programs will be managed after the merger is finalized.
