The films aren't shown in theaters like in Hollywood and Bollywood. They go straight to DVD and VCD and air on a satellite channel M-NET.

Osuofia in London: Critics Review

Osuofia in London: Critics Review | Nollywood Film | Scoop.it

"Osuofia in London has a lot of funny moments here and there, but it is a movie that is kind of condescending and as a result I do not personally like it. It is full of a lot of dated jokes that are not really funny anymore. Like someone asking for the wrong food off the McDonald’s menu or the overly nice treatment of a Caucasian in an African village. I say give me a F***ing break."

ANTHROPOLOGY OF NOLLYWOOD

ANTHROPOLOGY OF NOLLYWOOD | Nollywood Film | Scoop.it
Jasmine, Leah, Candi 's insight:

"I would say that this is an example of anti-globalization, which I like to point out, because in cinema these days globalization comes up constantly and, in a way, tiresomely, because movies are made to be seen everywhere...I teach Francophone-African cinema as part of the global system because the money and the films come from everywhere and go everywhere, even though they are talking about important African issues. Whereas Nigerian film, I teach almost as a kind of anthropology, a kind of graffiti that's made in the country that's not really meant to be visible elsewhere." -Dudley Andrew R. Selden Rose Professor of Film and Comparative Literature, Yale University
