Political foes have clashed over the reasons for North Lanarkshire’s Yes vote in the Scottish independence referendum.
Labour Party have learned nothing. Cllr Mcguigan is lying through his teeth. I was at Ravenscraig. I sampled ballot boxes from Bellshill, mossend, viewpark and Holytown. I stood next to from faced Labour Party members as box after box from these area fell to Yes. I agree, the were not as spectacular as Coatbridge or Cumbernauld but they were Yes. What Cllr Mcguigan is deluding himself about is the boxes from Shotts. Shotts was a no and brought group C down.
In code what hppened was the prospect of the loss of 4000 catholic votes at the referendum cause the Labour Party to have one hell of a ding dong last night before party hierarchy ( yes ms Lamont's name was mentioned) intervened. Now they are all not talking to one another. omeone shouid tell them, they are Better Together.
