Jay Cutler’s reputation in the NFL is founded on his ‘‘cannon for an arm.’’ But in Marc Trestman’s offense, it’s going to take more than that.
Tim Luisi's insight:
This is interesting, because although often times NFL beat writers write fluff pieces in August before the real games start, Jay Cutler is not one to usually throw out optimistic quotes. As a Denver Broncos fan, I know for certain that he is usually very cagey with the media and is not quick to hand out praise to his teammates. If he actually is optimistic and playing with a slightly different attitude than has made up the rest of his career, this could be a sign of good things to come for Cutler and the Bears this year. We'll see if the offensive line gives him good protection and also, if they fail to do so, how Cutler responds to the media then.
