Jim Bob's insight:

The Oxford dictionary is a really helpful tool. The book helps in many different ways for which even more options are being added to help support humanities in the United Kingdom. Phonetics is a great reference for remembering things in the English language. It also helps navigate around secondary languages supported with a basic understanding of linguistics you are good to go.

Linguistics is quite a broad subject so it is good to break the categories down if you really want to grasp a language and speak like the Romans do; for example RP short for Received Pronunciation gives you to accent and by examining Phonology you can target the areas of the throat and mouth to help you pronunciate correctly. This will help you form more accurate accents when reading the news.

Jamiehigginbotham II's curator insight, October 7, 2014 9:07 PM

Pro-Kurdish protesters have been complaining about Turkey and the West actions toward approaching Islamic States militants. Because of the recent riots Turkish soldiers have been using tear gas to shut down each demonstration. The U.S. government and the western allies have been conducting airstrikes around Kobane because they fear the wraith of the Turkish government towards actions that might effect the citizens in Turkey. The Turkish government refusal to let Turkish refugees leave the town and enter Syria continues to cause problems and will add towards their push for independence.

The Turkish government position seems to be at a stalemate only because of the coalition and the fear of Turkish citizens pushing to get their independence. But if Turkish citizens fear the approaching ISIS militants then they should have the right to get up and leave their own town with out being caged like an animal. If anything they should at least create a camp far away from the town for each citizen to stay in.
