Social media posts and videos are cropping up in academic publications more and more. This chart shows just how to cite social media with ease.
Kathleen Cercone's insight:

YouTube has progressed beyond cat videos. Twitter is more than just sharing what you’re eating for dinner. All of the major social networks are keystones of our online life and make up a big portion of who we are. So it’s no surprise that there are now guidelines on how to cite social media using the MLA and APA standards. In fact, I’m surprised it’s taken this long to see this topic hit the mainstream.

Since Google officially changed Google Docs name to Google Drive and a number of updates have been introduced to improve its overall performance. One very recent update is an increase of cloud storage capacity to 15GB usable across Gmail, Drive, and Google Plus. It is quite obvious that Google is trying to outsmart its immediate competitor Dropbox and I think Google is successful in its strategy so far.

Instructional Strategies Online - Learning Logs

Instructional Strategies Online - Learning Logs | New Web 2.0 tools for education | Scoop.it
Kathleen Cercone's insight:

What are Learning Logs ?

Learning logs are a simple and straightforward way to help students integrate content, process, and personal feelings. Learning logs operate from the stance that students learn from writing rather than writing what they have learned. The common application is to have students make entries in their logs during the last five minutes of class or after each completed week of class. The message here is that short, frequent bursts of writing are more productive over time than are infrequent, longer assignments.

We call them Stamps and they're a completely new online format for framing your talent and sharing content on the web. Baiba Svenca's curator insight, May 2, 2:00 PM

Stampsy is a new iPad app for creating digital content. The steps are easy to follow - add images and text to your page using drag-and-drop method. Change colours or fonts, and design the page as you like.

The result you'll get is a linear presentation with great visual potential, perfect for storytelling purposes.

There is a small inconvenience though - you will need a Facebook account to use the application.

The app is free. Download it here https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/stampsy/id582398120?mt=8

ghbrett's curator insight, May 8, 9:32 AM

Stampsy is an interesting graphic tool currently for the iPad. It has a few necessry tools such as Headline, Text, Images, Colour Palette, Various Fonts, and best of all it is limited to 10 pages. If Powerpoints were limited to 10 pages I wonder how much real information would be lost? No doubt we'd see the important information. Check it out.

Lee Hall's curator insight, May 15, 12:21 PM
