Colors of Social Timing: When To Post On Facebook, Twitter Social Networks | New to Social Media | Scoop.it
It’s important to know when the highest percentage of your audience is eavesdropping on your social networks—so that when you share content you’ll get maximum exposure.

All things being equal, and they never are online, post when you can create the biggest wave.

Ignore Mobile at Your Own Peril - #Infographic | New to Social Media | Scoop.it
Ignore Mobile at Your Own Peril Business owners have ignored mobile for too long. Not only is the growth in mobile usage unprecedented but the implication for any company of this growth is serious....

Marty - Hard to believe anyone would be "ignoring mobile" these days when it is so clear mobile is the major disruptive force of the last 10 years. If you are playing mad at mobile get over it fast or good luck with that.

I would do a few more things to check SEO such as:

* Webmaster tools to check errors.

* Watch heuristic KPIs like a hawk and pounce when they wobble.

* Check competitor sites for terms you want.

* Evaluate links.

Agree with the idea that 56 percent of customers who use social media to interact with an organisation feel a stronger connection with that brand.Social CRM is becoming an inevitable trend. Also, during this process, mobile technology can have great influence on customers' experience as well as brand loyalty.

Bruce McDuffee's curator insight, August 20, 2013 11:53 AM

It's important to keep in mind your audience and how the ideal prospect likes to consume content.  Scientists or engineers for example my consume or respect different media than consumers of clothing or electronics.

Email Rocks
You wouldn't be too far wrong if you viewed ALL of your social marketing as having a single purpose - building your email list. Social may be a POOR conversion medium if you think of conversion as MONEY, but it works great when you ask people to join your tribe.

Once joined magical things can happen not the least of which is you have to BUY LESS support from outside. Once your tribe is built and scaling you control your own destiny. If Google trashes your organic listings you have a way to recover.

If a competitor steals away customers with an amazing offer you can counter with email marketing to YOUR tribe. Makes you wonder why we aren't spending a lot more time finding new ways to build our list such as:

* Appointing List Building Ambassadors (i.e. give your 1% contributors the job of helping to build your list).
* Contest and games designed to build our lists.

* Facebook advertising (building our list was what I could get FB to do).

* Join Our Email Tribe CTAs all over everything.

* QRCodes that prompt mobile signups.

* etc...

We've ignored email for the shiny new things. Perhaps we should go back to the tried, true and profitable most social network - our email lists.

The State of Flipboard and Rise of Mobile Curation [INFOGRAPHIC]

The State of Flipboard and Rise of Mobile Curation [INFOGRAPHIC] | New to Social Media | Scoop.it

Flipboard is a personal magazine made up of the things you care about most. Recently, it surpassed 50 million readers and released a new feature that allows users to create their own magazines. Readers can now collect and curate the web pages they like into these magazines on Flipboard.

Since the new edition of Flipboard was announced several weeks ago, an additional 3 million readers have joined (for a total of 53 million currently). Also, more than 500,000 magazines have been created since too, given this great new way to curate content for mobile devices. In fact, there are over 6 billion pages flipped per month! More than 50% of Flipboard 2.0 users are reading magazines every day. 9am is the top time of the day for reading, while 7pm is the peak time for sharing. Some of the most popular magazines by publishers include The Esquire Interviews (by Esquire), Prefab Perfection (by Dwell), Women We Love (by Esquire), and The Beatles (by Rolling Stone). Using Flipboard is a truly an amazing experience and the site could be looking at exponential growth in the years to come as mobile devices completely take over!
