Where should we go from here, the Moon or an asteroid? The asteroid is the only destination possible with current budget constraints, regardless of how wonderful a Moon mission would be. The bare fact is, we cannot afford to design, test, build, and launch a brand new spaceship that will land astronauts on the Moon and then launch them back off the Moon. The billions of dollars just aren't there. On the other hand, we already have what it takes to launch astronauts to a small captured asteroid in lunar orbit. No landing or takeoff from a body with a deep gravity well is required. The difference in the price tags of the two missions is enormous. Delete the scoop?

A new worry for Marsnauts, red lung. The fine red dust blowing over the entire surface of Mars is potentially harmful as coal dust is to coal miners. Miners' black lung is a disease leading to a slow and increasingly painful death. Red lung might be similar. We need to get a handle on this before we send people there. Delete the scoop?
