Mobility vs #Mobile - Big Difference!!!

Mobility vs #Mobile - Big Difference!!! | New Customer - Passenger Experience | Scoop.it
Let's advance from thinking about mobile devices and strategy to the idea of mobility -- where you bridge mobile to real-world marketing.
Eric_Determined / Eric Silverstein's insight:

To deliver the right #Customer #Experience, you need to understand your Customer Journey. With everyone focused on mobile, don't forget that the bigger picture is Mobility!

Antony  is on point: "Mobility is very much at the heart of culture right now. It is about fulfilling consumers' desire to stay constantly connected and helping people to get tasks done on the move."

Great examples are provided across multiple brands.

@Starbucks was an early adopter of the mobile platform, but were late in the game in leveraging that infrastructure and data to finally offer pre-ordering capabilities.

@Chipotle on the other hand is already offering pre-ordering capabilities. Like Starbucks, both have long lines during peak hours. But here too, Chipotle is learning from its customers some of their shortcomings from their App store reviews.

The key is that you are engaging your audience and delivering a service your customers desire. But make sure you can deliver it right Every Time, your customers will expect nothing less!

I want mobility commerce, not mobile commerce. If it is supposed to be truly mobile I should be able to order goods to ME, here where I am, ASAP. Not to my address or my post office.

Thomas provides a thorough overview on the variety of #App monetization strategies.

If you don't make money, you won't remain in business.

To maximize your revenues, you need to build your monetization model with the customer in mind, how he/she interacts with your App, and in the case of games part of your user experience.

@eBay enhances #mobile shopping experience

@eBay enhances #mobile shopping experience | New Customer - Passenger Experience | Scoop.it
Eric_Determined / Eric Silverstein's insight:

eBay understands the need to continuously innovate in order to keep pace with Amazon, Walmart and others.

They are putting a focus on Mobile:

Better shopping experiences
EBay has thrown a significant amount of weight behind mobile over the years.

For example, eBay was one of the first to develop a smart watch app earlier this year for Samsung Galaxy devices.

Additionally, eBay updated its fashion and automotive apps in August for a better multiscreen shopping experience.

With showrooming only growing as a bigger concern for bricks-and-mortar retailers this year, there will be a bigger emphasis on branded apps that play up loyalty to compete with online heavyweights such as eBay and Amazon.

Measuring Mobile Effectiveness Still Challenges Marketers

Measuring Mobile Effectiveness Still Challenges Marketers | New Customer - Passenger Experience | Scoop.it
Mobile advertising is a big business, and spending continues to pour in. But—as is common with so many digital advertising channels that offer the promise of measurability and ever-increasing efficacy—performance measurement is still a challenge. Of course, that doesn't mean marketers aren't measuring on mobile—or trying to calculate return on investment.
Eric_Determined / Eric Silverstein's insight:

With companies focusing on mobile-first experiences, how are you measuring your mobile app success?

We see social playing an important role to keep your customers engaged and active directly within existing mobile apps.

Push offers transactional benefits, but building and nurturing customer relationships strengthens lifetime customer value.

Are The #Customer #Experience Stakes Higher on #Mobile?

Are The #Customer #Experience Stakes Higher on #Mobile? | New Customer - Passenger Experience | Scoop.it
With many companies treating their mobile interactions with customers as an 'afterthought', we wonder whether they recognize the risks they are taking with their customers base.
Eric_Determined / Eric Silverstein's insight:

The stakes are higher in #Mobile.

In 2013, there were 102 billion app downloads.

1/4 of them were used just once and never touched again!

3 important points to consider:

  • Buyers see mobile customer experience as an 'elite' capability and make quick judgements based on early experiences ('they just don't have it")
  • The very nature of mobile is that customers are looking for quick results when they are short on time and have less tolerance for hiccups on mobile than on other platforms or brick and mortar environments
  • The difference between bad and good #CX is magnified on mobile with the best retailers having extremely well thought out and executed mobile sites

Once a customer downloads your #App, make sure you develop an engagement strategy that offers value and incentives, in order to strengthen your customer relationships.

Is #gamification a possible solution to keep your customers engaged, share your thoughts?

Apptimate's curator insight, November 22, 2014 4:04 AM

Yes the stakes are much higher in mobile, and it's  not only about user interface, They want immediate response. They need security and privacy protection. And this will put enormous pressure on corporate IT departments to deliver the same experience in internal systems and apps
