The Gainsborough Bath Spa
New on the block…
Originally built in the 1800s, The Gainsborough Bath Spa occupies two Grade II Listed buildings with distinguished Georgian and Victorian façades in the heart of the World Heritage Site. Named after the artist, Sir Thomas Gainsborough, the hotel is centered around Spa Village Bath and, uniquely in the UK, has the exclusive privilege of having access to the natural thermal, mineral-rich waters.
Subtly referencing period details combined with contemporary forms, the individually furnished rooms are inclusive of five star amenities from luxurious bedding, generous wardrobes, cordless phones and full black out window coverings. Each room and suite also features an iPod docking station, a flat screen HD television, Roberts’s radio with Bluetooth connectivity, complimentary Wi-Fi and radiant heated bathroom floors.
The hotel offers a variety of conference and banqueting facilities, ideally suited to weddings, wellness events and business meetings. This complex of historical buildings provides two different areas for a variety of functions with additional breakout rooms available. The Chapel and The Somerset Room each have a setting for panel discussions and a head table or a lectern with audio visual capabilities. The Chapel also features direct access to an outdoor terrace, allowing for further flexibility.
The unique feature of the hotel is the Spa Village Bath, as it is the only hotel that has access to the original thermal springs within the City. The spa is set beneath a glass atrium and the Bath House experience enables guests to ‘take the waters’ in luxury. Guests will begin their visit with a circuit that includes dipping in two natural thermal pools of varying temperatures, traditional and infrared saunas, a steam room, an ice alcove and elegant relaxation areas. Spa Village Bath integrates the treasured waters of Bath with private aquatic body therapies and classic treatments that focus on personalised aromatherapy.
