G+ is catching up big time for many reasons.  Among these reasons is the Hangout integration.

We just facilitated a remote 1.5 day leadership development session with Hangouts and it was fantastic.

Google is sticking to their strategy and their value is starting to win people over.  I was never a fan and, through valuable features, I am changing my perspective on the suite of offerings.

This is a relevant infographic.

Infographic: How Social Media Impacts Purchasing Decisions... | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it

Many professionals are turning to social media as a place of trust for their purchasing decisions and it’s no different for the IT industry. IT decision makers have a highly-regarded task of ensuring they recommend the best products and services for their organizations.
LinkedIn, Forrester Consulting, and Research Now zeroed in on these professionals to see how they utilize social media, including its effects on their purchasing decisions and how they engage with social.
According to Michael Weir, Head of Category Development for the Technology Industry at LinkedIn, “It’s no surprise that [IT decision makers] are heavy users of social networks. In fact, 85% have used at least one social network for business purposes. What’s surprising is that 73% have engaged with an IT vendor on a social network – underscoring the value of the channel for IT marketers. Even more revealing is the fact that social media is now a critical source of influence across the entire decision making process, not just during the initial research phase.”

Visual Information & How It Affects Website Traffic [Infographic] | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it

Educate yourself about the importance of visual information on your website. With infographics, you will gain a lot more traffic for your growing website.

Visual information is processed faster by the brain, with 90% of all the information that we take in is visual. But the thing with visual information is also that unless it’s a really good story or article, people don’t want to read through a whole page of text when he or she could do something else more fun. So, throw in an infographic with visual information, and you’ll have a winner...

The Phobias Of Creatives [infographic]

The Phobias Of Creatives [infographic] | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it

We all have fears—spiders, heights, clowns.

To highlight the fears of creative professionals, creative agency Column Five Media—in collaboration with the social network for creatives The Creative Finder—has created an infographic.

In ‘The Common Phobias of Creatives’, it states that within the office, creative types have a phobia of: PCs, Comic Sans, sterile cube farm environments, internet outages, and hovering helicopter bosses.

When freelancing, creatives fear asking for extensions, asking for payments, getting non-traditional compensations, and never being able to say “no” to a project.

When it comes to dealing with clients, creatives are afraid to get these responses: “I’m not in love with it”; “Let me circulate it around the office”; “Can we make it ‘pop’ more”; “Can we get this ASAP”; “I’ll know it when I see it”; and “This is a good start, but…”.

Creatives, are these truly your fears?

Check out the infographic above.

I like this infographic. One time each semester, I have students shut their eyes for a minute and challenge them to think of one thing and pay attention to how many times their mind wants to change. I do this when introducing Howard Rheingold's 'Infotention' and Nicholas Carr's 'The Shallows'. Then I show this infographic.
