Check Out the Best From This Week's Open Thread

Check Out the Best From This Week's Open Thread | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it
If your child asks about the Easter Bunny, should you tell them the truth or build the fantasy? Some quick pieces of advice for those who just had (or are about to have) a new baby. (And congratulations!) I just set up a Raspberry Pi as a Bittorrent Sync server, network storage location, and local backup location. Is there any reason I shouldn't just use Bittorrent Sync to perform my PC and Mac backups? How do you get to the Most Recent setting on the newest version of the Android Facebook app? I've been using my browser instead because I can't stand the Top Stories feed and can't figure out how to change it since the app udpated. Anyone else like to stream baseball? I was excited to see that MLB.tv now supports Chromecast, however I think I'm going to have to continue using my HTPC + VPN to watch in-market games because the At Bat app requires location services to be on. Has anyone tested out PIA using Chromecast yet? I use no-ip.com as a DNS host/free domain thing, so I'm able to get mydomain.no-ip.org as an easy SSH shortcut. But the site requires an annoying monthly check-in with Captcha. Any alternatives? I don't have an Android right now but will be getting one soon. I'd still like to avail of the app deals I see right now though. Is there a way that I can download and save some of the apps from Dealhacker so that I have a few apps ready to go for when I finally get my phone? How much information should I give about myself on my personal site? Is there a way to get text on indexed on Google? I have a small game that outputs its name and possibly a bit of background. Is paying more for a surge protector worthwhile? I get that some have better physical designs, but what about the ciruitry? How do I know how many joules I need? Food Question! Would anyone happen to know any good sauces that go well with pasta that are not tomato based? Alfredo sauce seems like an easy answer but anything else?
