Baltimore Ravens' victory over the San Francisco 49ers, broadcast on CBS, set a record for highest overnight ratings in Super Bowl history

 

The power outage was an immediate hot topic for quips and questions online. There were an estimated 47.7 million social media posts during the game, according to the company Trendrr TV, which tracks activity on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. That compares with 17 million during last year's game and 3 million in 2010, Trendrr said.

 

 

Ken Morrison's insight:

Super Bowl XLVII falls short of ratings record on television but Trendrr TV released stats today that say that there were 47.4 million social mediaposts during teh game.  This compares to 3 million in 2010.  Ken's note:  Don't forget that the electricity problem prolonged the time for possible social media posts about the game
