The NSA Is Funneling Your Internet Life from Silicon Valley to Obama's Desk | An Eye on New Media | Scoop.it
If you thought the National Security Agency's collection of Verizon phone-call data was bad, wait until you hear about PRISM, the seven-year-old, previously undisclosed classified government program that works with nine very major U.S.
Ken Morrison's insight:

I held back on sharing this because I was hoping that the public was over-reacting.

FYI: I can not keep up with all of the attacks on privacy, so I simply file them all under the Scoop.it tag of "SOPA" and/or "Privacy" or "Politics"  Most are tagged under all three, but I always use "SOPA"

Ken Morrison's insight:

Ken's Key Take-Away:

This video shows artifacts of generations of young students literally leaving their mark by signing their name on the wall of this off-limits area of MIT.  Pushing the limits is part of what makes MIT great.  At about this time last year, they decided to not stand up for the free flow of information.  Due to their weakness, the world lost one of the most talented people under the age of 30.  I am still grieving over this tragic loss.  He made most of our lives better.  We can only imagine what he may have done with the next 40 years on earth...
