Teachers Guide on The Use of iPad in education

Teachers Guide on The Use of iPad in education | New Education iPad Apps | Scoop.it

iPad is a cool versatile tool that has a huge potential in education. It is widely believed that iPad has started tranforming the face of education and revolutionizng modes of learning. Results coming out of pilot studies on the integration of iPads in the classroom seem to be promising. Reed College, for instance, took the Apple iPad for a spin in 2010 and was pleased with the tablets performance as an educational tool. As part of a pilot program, Roslyn High School on Long Island handed out 47 iPads on Dec and the school district hopes to provide iPads eventually to all 1.100 of its students. Another report shows that hundreds of middle school students in the central San Joaquin Valley, Calif, are using curriculum apps for their classwork and homework.

Mobile Learning: 50+ Resources & Tips : Teacher Reboot Camp

Mobile Learning: 50+ Resources & Tips : Teacher Reboot Camp | New Education iPad Apps | Scoop.it

I believe mobile devices will transform education. This is why I created a free ebook, Effective Mobile Learning: 50+ Quick Tips & Resources with helpful tips and several resources to help support this trend. One reason is because mobile devices are designed in a way that forces the teacher to give control to the learner. When we equip a classroom with iPads, iPods, small tablets, or cellphones the learning is literally put in the hands of the students. The teacher has to facilitate and walk around the room to manage the learning. Below are a list of 50+ Mobile Learning resources & growing! I hope this will help any educator new to integrating mobile devices with the knowledge they need to be successful! Feel free to pass these resources around and use them with your staff.

"I write this post for my father — beloved 86-year-old owner of a brand new iPad 2 — who unfortunately lives half a world away. If you — like Dad — are struggling with how and where to begin using a new iDevice, then you’ll appreciate the Apple and third-party resources that I’ve listed for him here. They’ll provide you with great “training wheel” iPad and iPhone instructions and make an iWhiz out of you in no time."

"As a Technology Integration Specialist, part of my job is to provide resources for teachers. To help me manage these resources, the ZITE app http://ow.ly/bYTOY provides numerous daily resources. In the past, I would email my self, then go to my email, click on the link, and place it into my Google Bookmarks. A three-four step process. Since becoming addicted to Evernote http://ow.ly/bYTQM ; for categorizing all notes, I have found that the ZITE app provides a "Share Article" option that allows direct access to Evernote."
