“Thirty-five” was the answer to the following question posed to a marketing agency’s hiring manager: “What is the minimum Klout score a college student can have and still be considered for an internship at your firm?”
I immediately went into a state of shock — Shock that Klout has gone mainstream so quickly, and shock because my digital marketing student’s Klout scores typically range from 15 to 25. As an instructor, I had to ask myself: “Am I doing everything I could to prepare my students for the real world workplace?”
Tom George: Things are heating up in the mobile sector especially now that Apple has just been awarded a win against Samsung for patent infringement, I am certian we can also expect more legal action to follow.
Will Apple sue Amazon or Google next? Steve Jobs was very outspoken about his anger of the Android operating system, expressing his frustration because in his words "it's a stolen product". Will this have long lasting implications? Yes I do believe so.
I only hope in the long run it doesn't hurt the consumer, or hamper innovation but this tech war is probably going to create a few more explosions and some series far reaching verdicts.
A lot of the giant technology brands and companies you know and love today didn't look anything like they do now when they first started. Just look at their original logos: almost always butt ugly, but slowly grew into what they are now. Here are the humblest beginnings for all to see:The fine folks at Stock Logos compared famous logos with their original forms, and it's hilarious to see how unrecognizable they all are now. They're universally awful. Who gave the okay on some of these? Were they made as a joke? See for yourself below.

A few months ago when I was just beginning a very personal journey that took me to the ballroom dance floor, I wrote a blog post entitled, “7 Lessons the Tango Teaches About Being a Great Follower.” For, as much as I love to dance, I have a genuine desire to be an exceptional follower. And while I would absolutely include every one of those 7 lessons I originally mentioned as a critical ingredient of followership:
Tom George: The darkness of the night made it difficult to see the enormous waves which crashed into the side of the hull practically ripping it to shreads. As the small vessel began to sink. The occupants began to give themselves the injections. The water was cold but not life threatening, hopefully there would be no sharks.
As they sank in the rough waters they had no need to breeth, for a while anyway. Their blood would be fully oxygentated for a while, hopefully long enough to be rescued.

Tom George: Today the opportunities for strategic networking are enormous. If you are a budding entrepreneur with a start up idea or perhaps you have a business that you are building online, never before have there been so many good places to meet and find, influencers, investors and helpers.
The right type of assistance can be a click away. How do you go about finding these resources and people? Well simply put it is about networking. It is about your value propostion. What exactly is your connection and your value proposition? First I think it is important to get a clear picture of your business plan and to create your story. Without a clear story your potential networkers and suitors will be unable to see your full potential.
This article actually talks about business plans and a few networks that can be helpful, but without an executable plan, you will not be able to put together your story. In order to network effectively today you need to tell your story. The benefit of this is it builds your audience and it builds your credibility. Once your story is in place you can and should network enthusiastically.
So hopefully you have your story thought out and ready to be told. Now with that being said enjoy this article on The Democratization of Entrepreneurship: The next generation of networks.
