Every generation has its shiny new technology that's supposed to change education forever. In the 1920s it was radio books. In the 1930s it was television lectures.

I really think it is so interesting to how 'current' technologies at different points in time have been imagined to change or disrupt education. From a quick glance it seems that the fundamental thinking remains the same over the examples (apart from perhaps the last one) - the individual student acquiring 'knowledge' from 'medium' perhaps facilitated by 'teacher' - not prevalent ideas of collaboration or co-production of knowledge (though such ideas have also been present)
