Boston’s first ice sculpture of the holiday season made its debut on Monday at the Aquarium and will be up all week until First Night. Hopefully, this spectacular ice art will weather the slightly warmer temperatures to join the other New Year’s Eve ice sculptures across the city.

Searching for a right whale mating ground - "Now the really exciting news- almost all the whales we saw that day were reproductive adults. All seven females have given birth before and should be getting pregnant now (they have had at least a year of rest since they weaned their last calf)." Delete the scoop?

Breaking news from the rescue team: When this turtle arrived we thought it was dead. After using an ultrasound we noticed it had a heart rate of ~2 beats per minute. We gave emergency meds including atropine to get the heart rate up and dopram to stimulate breathing.
We went through several more rounds of emergency medications then intubated the turtle and put it on a respirator inside of the ICU for the night.

Visitors to our shark and ray touch tank may not know that we find shark egg cases like this every single day. We collected one of those eggs a while back, and it hatched right on time! This species takes about five months. Out came a beautiful, healthy female epaulette shark, small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, literally! Delete the scoop?

Though this turtle is a little over ten pounds, its biggest problem is anorexia and thinness. A turtle this size should be closer to fifteen pounds. Colossus still hasn't eaten yet but we are working hard at getting him or her to start. Delete the scoop?
