This is a good article for anyone interested in learning more about cancer. The article addresses what cancer is, how cancer spreads, the role of genes and DNA, carcinogens, symptoms, treatments, prevention, and nutrition...very comprehensive look.

I like how this includes a discussion around diet, a video at the end of the article. Many ignore eating the right foods and use allopathic medicine alone to combat cancer.

I wish everyone would take the time to read this!  Not only does Monsanto involve themselves in herbicides & pesticides, they have entered the pharmaceutical world thereby ensuring their monopolized success no matter which way you look at it. http://www.naturalnews.com/037409_Monsanto_gene_silencing_pharmaceuticals.html

It's scary how few species of veggies we have today. 97% of the varieties of veggies we had in the beginning of the 20th century are now extinct. There are only 4 commonly sold varieties of potatoes, for example. The genetic uniformity is alarming. It's too bad that the Supreme Court ever opened the door to allow food crops and seeds to be patented in 1978. Monsanto now owns about 11,000 patents, scary since they also monopolize pesticides and herbicides.

Ellen Naylor's comment, April 20, 2013 4:03 PM
That's why we need to have a garden and get non-GMO seeds OR support organic farmers. If you eat lots of organic fresh veggies, you won't need pharmaceuticals, or at least not as often.

Is The FDA Being Compromised By Pharma Payments?

Is The FDA Being Compromised By Pharma Payments? | Educated Eating | Scoop.it

In touting an upcoming special issue of the Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics (JLME), Donald W. Light of the School of Public Health, University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ, wrote an article entitled “Risky Drugs: Why The FDA Cannot Be Trusted”.

“The forthcoming article in JLME also presents systematic, quantitative evidence that since the industry started making large contributions to the FDA for reviewing its drugs, as it makes large contributions to Congressmen who have promoted this substitution for publicly funded regulations, the FDA has sped up the review process with the result that drugs approved are significantly more likely to cause serious harm, hospitalizations, and deaths.”

This is a pretty damning comment. Basically, Light is saying that pharma paid congressmen to sponsor legislation that results in the FDA being beholden to pharma for funding for its work.

Why should anyone care about Light’s views? Unfortunately, as an academic whose work is supported by the Safra Center for Ethics, his word carries a disproportionate amount of influence. These comments perpetrate the view that there is an unholy alliance between the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry, an alliance that threatens the health of patients.

This incredible boy shares what he learned about the industrial factory food production prevalent in the US today. This was 3 years ago and he is still battling Big Food including its advertising of unhealthy salty and/or sweet processed food using bright colors and appealing to kids. He recommends that we buy organic food. Love his quote, "We can pay the farmer (for organic food) or pay the hospital."
