Balance your dopamine to lose weight and beat addiction

Balance your dopamine to lose weight and beat addiction | naturopath | Scoop.it
Addicted to food, work, sex, stress? Calm your nerves and beat cravings by naturally regulating your dopamine levels.
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

This article explains why we need to take responsibility for our own behaviours and get off the hamster wheel of negative patterns. It is not just a matter of willpower, but how we manage our lives in terms of healthy eating and lifestyle practices. When these things are attended to, our neurotransmitters will be in balance and we are more in control of our lives, mentally and emotionally, and our physical health is better. Then the healthy habits are easier to maintain. That is the philosophy at our Perth naturopathic clinic. See the website: www.cottnat.com.au

How Dancing Changes The Brain

How Dancing Changes The Brain | naturopath | Scoop.it
Dancing leads to anatomical structural changes in the brain that can have protective effects against brain disease.
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

Dancing improves brain function on a variety of levels. For one, our muscle memory allows us to learn how to perform a dance without thinking about the steps. According to neuroscientist Daniel Glaser, this happens because “the movements become thoroughly mapped in the brain, creating a shorthand between thinking and doing,” It increases "neuroplasticity", the ability of the brain to rewire itself, and guards against degeneration and dementia. Besides that. it's fun!

Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

Monsanto’s chemical concoctions which are being sprayed all over farmers’ fields around the world are attributed to the large-scale bee die off. While a growing number of countries are banning Monsanto, it’s still being used in in nations who should be aware of its dangers. To say that new methods need to be implemented before it is too late is an understatement.

Compound in Turmeric Regenerates Brain Stem Cells

Compound in Turmeric Regenerates Brain Stem Cells | naturopath | Scoop.it
Components of turmeric – a well-known ingredient in curry spice – are wildly studied today for its anti-inflammatory effects and cancer prevention.…
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

Turmeric is already known to possess hundreds of benefits for treating disease, optimising health and delaying the ageing process. This is through its anti-inflammatory action, which is thought to be mediated by the main active component curcumin. In this study, another of its many compounds, turmerone, has been shown to promote stem cell proliferation in the brain. This means it has potential benefit in treating neurological diseases, strokes and recovery from brain injury. It is yet another reason to take turmeric whole and not in the form of curcumin capsules - provided it is heated and combined with oil and black pepper to greatly increase absorption...

Essential Oils That Stop Cancer In Its Tracks

Essential Oils That Stop Cancer In Its Tracks | naturopath | Scoop.it

Even scientists now recognize the power agents that exist within some essential oils which stops cancer spreading, and which induces cancerous cells to close themselves down. Their disease-preventing ability is no longer doubted, especially for cancer.

Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

Many essential oils have a powerful anti-cancer action. But the most impressive is frankincense, which could revolutionise the treatment of cancer. Currently, with chemotherapy, doctors blast the area around a tumour to kill the cancer, but that also kills healthy cells, and weakens the patient. Treatment with frankincense could eradicate the cancerous cells alone and let the others live.

Scientists Discover That Eyes Are Windows To The Soul

Scientists Discover That Eyes Are Windows To The Soul | naturopath | Scoop.it
By Steven Bancarz|  The eye is the window to the universe, and some would say they are also windows to the soul..  We have heard this phrase get passed around before: "The eyes are the windows of the soul".  People usually say this when they can see pain, anger, or some other emotio
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

Iridology or eye diagnosis is one area of traditional naturopathy I have never embraced. The vast majority of signs in the iris are there from birth and never change (which is why it will probably replace fingerprints in biometric scanning). Signs in the sclera do change and may have value. So if you accept that iridology reflects weakness in organs, you would have to say that it reveals susceptibility only. However, there is a branch of eye diagnosis that says you can determine a person's personality from their iris structure. I have always been intrigued by that, and wondered whether it could aid in homeopathic analysis. At last, here is scientific validation of this very fact! I would like to check these findings against a book I have on personality iridology. If it matches, then I might tentatively look at the other indications...maybe...
