Scientists Discover That Eyes Are Windows To The Soul

Scientists Discover That Eyes Are Windows To The Soul | naturopath | Scoop.it
By Steven Bancarz|  The eye is the window to the universe, and some would say they are also windows to the soul..  We have heard this phrase get passed around before: "The eyes are the windows of the soul".  People usually say this when they can see pain, anger, or some other emotio
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

Iridology or eye diagnosis is one area of traditional naturopathy I have never embraced. The vast majority of signs in the iris are there from birth and never change (which is why it will probably replace fingerprints in biometric scanning). Signs in the sclera do change and may have value. So if you accept that iridology reflects weakness in organs, you would have to say that it reveals susceptibility only. However, there is a branch of eye diagnosis that says you can determine a person's personality from their iris structure. I have always been intrigued by that, and wondered whether it could aid in homeopathic analysis. At last, here is scientific validation of this very fact! I would like to check these findings against a book I have on personality iridology. If it matches, then I might tentatively look at the other indications...maybe...

The Nature Of Mind And The Holographic Brain | TruthTheory

The Nature Of Mind And The Holographic Brain | TruthTheory | naturopath | Scoop.it
by Brandon West What is the true nature of mind, and what is the real function of our brains? The purpose of this article is to provide evidence that strongly indicates that you are not your brain, or your body for that matter, and that the nature of mind, of memory, and of our brains…
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

This is starting to look more likely..."In this article we will explore the idea that the brain itself, with its tissue and neurons that we have until now deemed the source of our thoughts and identity, is actually just a tool, a receiver of human intelligence and consciousness, but not its source; and that the human mind is not sourced in the brain any more than the internet can be found in your laptop or your modem..."

Turning to the alternative

Turning to the alternative | naturopath | Scoop.it
ASKED to consider the biggest battles between reason and faith, many of us think of terrorism. But everyday versions of protest politics play out in fields such as health and nutrition which may not fall into the traditional definitions of religion or faith.
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

While it is not totally sympathetic to natural medicine, I think this article has some important insights. Patients have lost faith in both medicine and religion. "Alternative medicines is in many respects a fusion of both, a middle ground between religion and science..."

World Renowned Heart Surgeon Speaks Out On What Really Causes Heart Disease

World Renowned Heart Surgeon Speaks Out On What Really Causes Heart Disease | naturopath | Scoop.it
Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

A heart surgeon admits he was wrong - dead wrong. Inflammation is the real culprit, and the injury and inflammation in the blood vessels is actually caused by the low fat and high carbohydrate diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine...

Oral curcumin may protect gut function

Oral curcumin may protect gut function | naturopath | Scoop.it
Oral curcumin may be a viable therapy to improve intestinal barrier function changes caused by consuming a high-fat Western diet, according to a preclinical study by VCU School of Medicine researchers.
Cottesloe Naturopathic Clinic's insight:

This study reveals another benefit of turmeric and its active ingredient curcumin - and here it doesn't even need to be absorbed to convey benefits. The typical Western diet change gut bacteria to harmful species, and it also alters key enzymes that result in a "leaky gut", allowing toxins from these bacteria into the circulation. This results in inflammation that eventualy causes chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. Curcumin present in the gut helps restore the integrity of the gut wall, thereby moderating this cascade of events from the typical Western diet...

Yet more evidence that humans weren't meant to drink milk after weaning - and certainly not that meant for baby cows. Dairy is considered a major cause of the acne epidemic and other more serious chronic diseases in the Western world. I believe the focus of dentistry (like medicine) should be prevention of decay and disease through
