Several Trichogramma wasps species are known to be parasiotids of buterfly family (Lepidoptera). Trichogramma species are the most widely-studied agents of biological control in the field of entomology. But it is less known, that they can be also registered as insecticides.
In PAN Pesticides Database Trichogramma pinto and T. evanescens could be found among chemicals: identification, toxicity, use, water pollution potential, ecological toxicity and regulatory information is given also for these beneficial organisms like for any other pesticide.
Data on 6,500 pesticides, insecticides and herbicides including toxicity, water pollution, ecological toxicity, uses and regulatory status is provided in Pesticides Action Network database.
