The State Should Fund Local Hospices - e-petitions

The State Should Fund Local Hospices - e-petitions | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
Local Hospices who provide respite and palliative care for terminally ill children and adults and their families are voluntary organisations who are solely dependent on donations and bequests for their funding. Charitable donation is a fine thing a fine tradition. Providing Care for the terminally ill is a responsibility of the state. We have had deliberate ignorance from the established political parties who are complicit in this betrayal. Now that the economy is in difficulty the government and the opposition parties will say there is no money: The Facts are clearly this: Under this Government and the previous one Tourists who came to this country for the sole purpose of accessing free NHS treatment cost us £20 to 40million. Our Health Service is a National Health Service not an International Service. This £20 to 40million should become the minimum state contribution to these fine Local Hospices. In recognising the economic crisis the sum proposed is achievable, substantial and backed by nationwide goodwill. If this petition offends politicians then tough,  if it offends those who it intends to help I apologise. The State Should Fund Local Hospices Public Funding for Hospices

Responsible department: Department of Health

This Petition calls on the Government through the Department of Health to publicly fund community hospices in order that the terminally ill children and adults of our society have the best quality care they deserve. In proposing this I suggest that the Government allocate the £40m spent by the NHS on treating overseas Health Tourists and invest that money in our Hospices.

Ban Pubs and Clubs From Discriminating Against Armed Forces - e-petitions

Ban Pubs and Clubs From Discriminating Against Armed Forces

"Sorry mate you can't come in if your in the Armed Forces". Is a phrase all too common across the nightlife scene in the UK. Our Armed Forces have fought and died for our pub landlords to enjoy the liberty of even running a business in the UK. Discrimination against off duty service men and women purely based on the fact that they are serving members of HM Forces should be illegal.

Excerpts from the letter below are from a serving Royal Marine and supporter of Nick Griffin MEP and the British National Party. Where this supporter is based, there is an anti armed forces policy amoung the pub and club industry, where armed forces are banned from no fewer than 50% of the pubs and clubs.

This supporter feels that the underlying reason for this is the overwhelming student population in this town that the pubs and clubs are able to make more profit from. Ten miles away where no students go in Exmouth the pubs are all welcoming of armed forces.
"As it is armed forces day today I was hoping you would sympathise with my plight and help to raise political awareness of the disrespect we receive. In addition I have set up an e-petition I would like to make you aware of so that you can post it on your social network sites: Ban Pubs and Clubs From Discriminating Against Armed Forces - e-petitions
"It is an insult to our dead and those serving today who are willing to die in order to defend the liberty of running a pub/club that our pub/club landlords enjoy so much."
